GRADE: A
The Mercury have built a solid team around K.Copper this off-season. Even though they lost an aging B.Griner, they added the top 2 free agents on the market. First, Alyssa Thomas and then Sabally. They have a solid nucleus and should be taken seriously this year. It remains to be seen if D.Taurasi will return or retire.
GRADE: A
The Wings scored big this off-season. First, they ended up with the #1 (Paige Bueckers). Then they made a few trades and also acquired D.Carrington, Alyssa Smith, and the #9 draft pick as well. They have depth at the guard position, someone will have to come off the bench, and it could be Carrington.
GRADE: D-
The Sun went from being perennial contenders to rebuilding in a matter of about 2 seconds. Thomas, Bonner, and Carrington all gone. Connecticut is in full rebuilt mode, but they only have the #11 overall pick. Even if they have the worst record this year, they still wouldn't get the #1 pick in the next draft because of the way that the WNBA uses a 2-year model.
GRADE: C+
Added Kelsie Plum in free agency but gave away their 2025 and 2026 1st round pick in the process this year. Plum probably wanted a bigger role and an LA lifestyle.
GRADE: B+
Added some solid veterans to the roster, all will be excellent role players around CC. They've added some veterans with a winning pedigree, and should be a respectable playoff team this upcoming season.
GRADE: A
Was able to swap Kelsie Plum, who was leaving anyway, for Jewell Loyd. I consider this somewhat of an upgrade, she's not as mych of a defensive liability as Plum is. Also adding talented 6'6 Elizabeth Kitley, who will be making her debut this year after missing her rookie year with an ACL injury.
GRADE: TBD
Jewell Loyd is now gone, but Seattle has the #2 pick and a chance to take Aneesah Morrow. I don't trust them to do that though, they'll probably draft someone else.
GRADE: B
The Dream signed B.Griner this off-season, plugging her in the middle of a talented roster.
GRADE: TBD
Minnesota has kept it quiet for the most part, and that's a good sign. They competed for a title last season and were close to capturing a title. That year of growth and experience should help.
